I’m Happy When It Rains

Workshop with Joëlle Bitton and Vinzenz Leutenegger

Our workshop takes place alongside the sound installation I’m Happy When It Rains and is based on the amount of rainwater collected throughout the festival. The installation is expanded through two biodesign workshop sessions, in which we will use microscopes and test kits to examine the microorganisms contained in the collected rain samples.

During the sessions, we will also discuss practices of collecting and harvesting rainwater, draw and learn, reflect on our sensory relationship with rain, and focus in particular on the particles carried by the rain—a little-known fact. In a separate event, live streams of the sounds generated by the installation will also be offered, to be announced based on the weather forecast.

Each workshop session lasts 45 minutes and is suitable for all ages. No prior knowledge required. Maximum of 10 participants per session.
